You know I love my Iraqi fried...

You know I love my Iraqi fried
Cold near-beer on a Friday night
A pair of ACUs that fit just right
and the Duke jammin'

I was raised beneath a Ft. Gordon pine,
that's long ago
0500 PT and long days of classes you already know
a place where the LTs grow
A lot of beer and a little JNN
throw in a router, switch and MDMP all over again

You know I love my Iraqi fried
Cold near-beer on a Friday night
A pair of ACUs that fit just right
and the Duke jammin'

Well I've seen the desert sunrise
miss the look of my beautiful woman's eyes
feel the touch of my precious child
and know their mother's love

Its funny how little things like your CHU is what you love the most
No ACUs, walk around in what you want for clothes
When the First Sergeant's not around; this i've come to know
So if you agree, have a drink with me
Raise your near-beer for a toast
to a little bit of Iraqi fried

You know I love my Iraqi fried
Cold near-beer on a Friday night
A pair of ACUs that fit just right
and the Duke jammin'

I thank God for my wonderful life
and for those stars and stripes; lets see 'em fly
We all know their worth the sacrifice.
Salute the ones who cried
Mothers of the 4568 who gave their lives; standing right here by my side
Soldiers, Marines, Airmen and Sailors to my left and right
knowin' this may be their last fight
So lets have a little bit of Iraqi fried

Cold near-beer on a Friday night
A pair of ACUs that fight just right
and the Duke jammin'

Adam,
Sounds like you could use a ride down the slide in the pool with Evan. I had a great weekend with your family. It's hard for me to be away for two months. My heart aches for you to be away from them for so long. They talk about you constantly, you are in their lives everyday.
Love and miss ya, Mom.
