Weekend with Elsa

We had a lot of fun with Elsa this weekend. We played at several parks, rode our bikes in a parade, went to an indoor playground with Uncle Joe (while Mom, Aunt Katy, and Nathan went for a run!), and played with bubbles. Waiting for the parade to start. Serious about the parade. It seems like the whole town turned out to either be in it or watch it.
Aunt Katy can be a bit kooky, but a lot of fun!

We went to the train museum. I could ride Thomas and look at a model train at the same time!

Conductors hard at work. It was fun to be in control of this train!

Happy Mother's Day!

Evan's turn: Since Mom wasn't home on Mother's Day, I decided we would have a Mother's Day party on Thursday. I got to choose how we celebrated, so we made a carrot cake (from scratch) with waffle frosting. For those of you who don't have the recipe, make a recipe of cream cheese frosting, add bits of torn waffle, stir. When Mom told me it was one of the best cakes she'd ever tasted I answered without hesitation, "I know. It's the waffles."

Mom spent Mother's Day weekend in the field (don't ask her how she feels about this!), but Nathan and I still had fun! Ready to ride. Grandpa was impressed by my speed UP hills!
My future is bright...
Whew! What's a boy to do after all this activity? Read, of course! This is what Mom came home to along with fresh tulips from the garden. What a bright end to a long day and even longer weekend.
Thanks, Grandma and Grandpa, for the fun adventures!

We were rabbit-sitting this weekend. This bunny spent most of his time out of his cage and only chewed up a bit of our furniture. We took really good care of him. Note George, Bear, and a scuba diver in the cage for him to play with.
We enjoyed the great weather this weekend. We played in the yard and sandbox, spent lots of time at the playground, rode bikes, and only went inside for naps and to play with the bunny!

Mom is loving the sunny weather, but is not so fond of how it brings out the motorcycles. Nathan learned the sign for 'motorcycle' this week, and now he gets so excited every time one drives by that he has trouble napping. As if the sun's pull to be outside doesn't make napping hard enough...
